Jipuria Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Jipuria about 10 km to the northeast of the Jipu Village, Duoma Region, Ritu County, Tibet. It was named by Liang Dingyi et al., in 1982.
Synonym: Jipuria Gr
Lithology and Thickness
Sandstone and Limestone. It is divisible into two parts: Lower part is composed of conglomerate, calcareous sandstone and sandy limestone, with a thickness of 650 m. Upper part consists of grey stratified cherty banded limestone, dolomitic limestone and dolomite, with a thickness of 500 m, yielding coral and Fusulinida fossils. Total thickness is 1150 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Unconformable contact with the underlying Tunlonggongba Fm or Longge Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by Oula Fm of early Triassic
Regional extent
Distributed in the areas of Tuotala, Duoldong Mt. and Rehepan, Duoma Region, Ritu County, Tibet.

Fossils
Lower part yields a small amount of brachiopods and fragments of crinoidal stems.
Upper part has Fusulinida fossils represented by Palaeofusulina, Codonofusiella, Reichelina, and Sphaerulina; and Coral fossils such as Huayunophyllum, Waagenophyllum.
